Now accessible: customer facilities. Next step: complete the first phase of construction, clear the parking lot and access to the short ramp in back.

Thank you for your continued patience. Five days left to get everything out of our old location! Cheers to Josh, Brendan, and Will for their heroic efforts today. This has been no small journey, but we're almost there.

THE CATS ARE HERE. We're spending the early night finding the food dishes and water dishes, the box in the special cat room, and the stairs. Carpeted stairs are fascinating. Also railings, which heads fit through but bodies do not. Also windows from which we can see a different street. Also being able to go in one door and come out another. And the new house purrs, then shoots warm air out of the walls. THIS IS WHAT HOLIDAY CHEER IS ALL ABOUT, PEOPLE.

Have a merry from Logan & Nierme.

We've got a new home!

At long last, we have bought a home for the bookstore - a beautiful 1847 Greek Revival house in the Northside neighborhood of Iowa City. It's our privilege to care for this National Register landmark and to enjoy its beauty!

Sneak peeks of the new upstairs...

Remember the green room picture I posted a while back? This is now science and languages:
Blue room: Religion, philosophy, and cultural studies (yes, that's a full set of Calvin's commentaries at the top)
Gold room: World history, economics, labor, business.
Red room: US history, politics, military history.

Ah, the gleaning of the shims from under the bookcases.

Tomorrow we've got case assembly, box filling, and book shelving to do. It's amazing what help from Allie, L, and Brooke and a few extra hours from Brendan and Marie can do: tomorrow I can start posting sneak previews of our new place!\
